Sunday Reflection

First let me start by saying Happy Father’s Day to all my daddy readers.

My husband is the most wonderful father in the world…besides my own dad! (I’m a bit biased, I know).

Today’s service was such a beautiful service!  Worship was wonderful, I was able to worship with my oldest son.  What a great feeling.  He’s learning still, but I see it starting to click (Worship, that is).

Speaking of my son, today was “Move Up Sunday” where all the kids move to the next grade level at church.  Michael goes from the Pre-teen (Grapple), to the Jr. High class (Rush, I think it’s called)…and then starts KAOS (the Jr/Sr High youth group).  I don’t remember him growing up like this, but I guess that’s what happens…I mean, he will be 12 in a couple weeks!

Anyway, back to church.  After worship, we had a special music…it doesn’t happen too often, and when it does, the special music always seems to be so beautifully sang!  A gentleman of our church sang Steven Curtis Chapman’s Cinderella.  I sat there and listened as tears sprang up in my eyes…it was just so beautiful!

Then they played a video…it was great, God’s Love Letter, I wanted to share it with my readers…I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

FYI…all local readers, come visit  The River Church next week for a Night of Worship…I’m sure it will be awesome!

Worship

As you may (or may not) know, I sing on our church’s Praise and Worship team once or twice a month, depending on the schedule.

Today I was on the schedule, which means a practice on Saturday morning for Sunday services.  Saturday morning was met with me bringing all 4 boys to practice (something I don’t like doing because it’s hard to sing and yell at the boys for doing something they shouldn’t be doing!

Anyway, in one of the songs, I sang a “round” by myself…I was nervous yesterday singing it…you could hear my voice shaking!  So, last night I spent some time praying, asking God to cleanse me so that I can go into worship on Sunday with a pure heart.

Today, I worshiped the Lord…didn’t care if I messed up or not, it’s not about how I sounded…it’s all about how my heart was.  Today, my heart was worshiping God.

What is worship to you?  Is it the music you sing to God?  I’d like to know!

Worship Night

A couple weeks ago our church hosted a night of worship. It was filled with Music, short video clips, and a short message from our Pastor.

I was hesitant to go since my husband was staying at home with the boys and I had been running all day…Singing on the Praise & Worship team in the morning, getting a couple last minute camping items after church, lunch, a baby shower, etc. But I went. And I was so glad I did!

It has been such a long time since I’ve felt the presence of God so powerfully like that in a service. I sang, prayed, wept, and worshiped God.

I can’t wait for the next one!!
