Thankful Thursday

ttbutton Today is Thankful Thursday…and to be quite honest, I’m having a hard time being thankful.  I’ve had a pretty rough day…but I’m determined to find what I’m thankful for today.

I’m thankful for my older 2 going to school today.  I was so tired after being up with Daniel and Andrew last night, I don’t think I could have dealt too well with them at home all day today.

I’m thankful that I have nurses at the doctor’s office that are available to answer any questions a sleep deprived mom can ask before determining that she, in fact, needs to bring the 2 boys in for a check-up.

I’m thankful that the last 2 times I’ve visited my doctor’s office I’ve had 2 of the doctors there that I actually feel really comfortable with having.

I’m thankful that the doctors have these tests to help determine what is wrong with my boys and know what to do to treat them.

I’m thankful that Meijer has FREE Amoxicillin, especially after getting our 4th dose of it this week!  (4 boys = 4 doses)

I will be thankful when all 4 boys are in bed tonight so I don’t have to hear all the whining and fighting they have been doing today since being home from school.

Thanks for joining me in finding things I’m thankful for today.  As hard as it was in the beginning for me to start this list, I’ve realized that it got easier as time went on…even with said boys fighting and whining!

Thankful Thursday

ttbuttonI know I have been a bit sporadic about Thankful Thursday, but today, I want to do a Thankful Thursday.

There are so many things that I am Thankful for…

A roof over my head…in today’s economy, there are so many people losing their home, I have a home, it may not be the house I’ve always dreamed of, but at least I have a roof over my head at night.

Heat…especially today.  It’s 8 degrees (-2 degrees when you factor in the wind chill)…it’s cold.  I don’t like the cold.  It’s nice to have heat and blankets to be warm.

To be taken care of…my husband does a wonderful job of taking care of us and providing for us.  I get to stay at home with my boys while he works hard to pay for all the bills.   By the Grace of God, he has a wonderful job!

For my boys…as hard as it was for me to accept the fact that I would never have a girl, I’m am ever so thankful that God has given me boys!  This comes from one who wasn’t supposed to have any children to begin with.  I don’t know what to do with girls…I have fully accepted being a mom of boys and no longer have the desire to have a girl.

For my friends…God has granted me some wonderful friends in my church and outside my church.  Each one of them are unique and have a way of making me see things in a different perspective.  They challenge me (in good ways) to change the bad things in me.  They set examples for me to follow.  They speak words of encouragement at times of need.  They are so wonderful!

Above all, for God in my life…because without Him, I am nothing.  Through Him I can accomplish so much more.  He challenges me to do things I would never do on my own.  He uses my weaknesses to accomplish things Great!

Thank you for stopping by today and seeing the few things I’m thankful for today.  There are so many things, but I know that there were a lot of others who also participated in Thankful Thursday and I didn’t want you to spend all day here and not visit the others.  Please go visit the others’ Thankful Thursday postsIris at Grace Alone hosts Thankful Thursdays!

I’m thankful that I can see the “light at the end of the tunnel” when it comes to our debt.  My wonderful husband has been working so hard at clearing our debt so we can get a house.

I’m thankful for the warm weather and being able to sit outside on our new new to us porch furniture.

I’m thankful for my morning coffee…sometimes I just need my caffeine in the morning to jump start my day…I’m not a morning person!

Thankful Thursday

Today is Thursday…that means it’s Thankful Thursday!
  • I’m Thankful for a wonderful Husband, Kevin. I feel like I say this every Thursday, but he’s just so great! He works so hard for our family and never complains when I don’t get something done (laundry, or cleaning, or whatever) even when I’m home every day! He even pitches in to help out when he sees I’m stressed out…even after a stressful day he’s at at work!!
  • I’m Thankful for Michael. He is working so hard at school this year, and although I will probably put him back in school next year, he isn’t complaining…he’s actually excited about going back and being with his friends (or making new friends).
  • I’m Thankful for Noah. He’s working so hard in school. Trying very hard to learn to read. I hear him sounding out words even when it’s not his homework!
  • I’m Thankful for Andrew. He loves playing Football and soccer. Loves to run and jump! When he was born, he struggled a bit with breathing, but is a Healthy little boy!!
  • I’m Thankful for Daniel. He’s my hyper little boy who loves dancing and running around! When he was born, he had some issues with eating, it took him longer to figure it out and also holding his body temperature. But he’s healthy!
  • I’m Thankful for my nieces and nephews! I have 2 nieces (one born yesterday!) and 1 nephew on Kevin’s side and 4 nieces and 2 nephews on my side of the family.
  • I’m Thankful for the new friends I’m meeting and for the older friends I have. Everyone one of them have something I need. God designed us to be friends for a reason!
  • I’m Thankful for my new blogging friends and message board friends. What a great network of support I have out there!

8 Oh, give thanks to the LORD!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
1 Chronicles 16:8 (New King James Version)

Today is Thankful Thursday again. There is so much in life to be thankful for. God has done some amazing things in my life.

  1. This is our first week of school. Michael (my oldest) is homeschooled (well, he’s in a virtual academy), and Noah (my middle child…well, middle to me, I have 4 boys…but only 3 pregnancies, so he’s my middle, but my 2nd child) went to first grade this year. Both have been doing very well. I haven’t had any complaints regarding school! I am Thankful that this week has went so well…and pray it continues to go well!
  2. I started a new Bible Study this week. “I AM…so you don’t have to be”. It is a wonderful study and I’m so Thankful that The Preacher’s Wife has started Round 2 of this study!
  3. I have 4 boys…I was told at a very young age (16) that I may never have any children. I’m so Thankful to God that he has allowed me to have children…and not just 1, but 4! Michael just celebrated his 10th birthday, Noah will be turning 7 in September, Daniel & Andrew are 2 1/2.
  4. The Lord has definitely blessed me with BOYS!! Although I always thought I would love to have a little girl, I’m finding it harder and harder to imagine me dealing with a girl! Praise the Lord for taking that longing for a girl away and just blessing me with a lot of boys!
  5. My 15 year H.S. Reunion is the end of Sept. My wonderful husband decided that instead of staying in the hotel with all my classmates, we would go to a Bed & Breakfast nearby…the same Bed & Breakfast we went to when I was pregnant with my fist! I am so excited! We could have just came home since we aren’t going too far for our reunion!
  6. This weekend we are going to Kings Island with my parents. Last year we had a season pass to go, but didn’t get one this year. The company my mom works for is having their annual picnic there, so we are all going together! Why am I thankful for that?? Well, my dad is going. He has been so sick and had sore feet for a long time. For him to actually agree to go is a HUGE blessing! Oh and they are staying at our house for the weekend since we are close to Kings Island!
  7. I’m thankful for little things like Benedryl and Claritan…without those, I would be suffering so much with my allergies at this time of year.
  8. Because of those little things mentioned above, I’m ever so thankful for my coffee in the morning to help me wake up!
  9. This blog community that I have recently found is wonderful! I can’t believe how many others are out there just like me, trying to live their lives the way God has intended them to. I’m so thankful for each and every one of them!
  10. And email…it may sound weird, but whenever an email comes in, I get so excited! I absolutely love it! That and regular mail. Any type of mail really (as long as it’s not a bill) I’m so excited! You never know what’s inside!
