Here I sit, it’s almost 12 am!  What am I still doing up?  That’s a really good question…but I’m not real sure what the answer is.  I am tired, I should be in bed, but the quietness of the night is so peaceful.  I get so much done in that time.

I have been working on getting my binder together, I have one specifically for out home and another (planner) that I take with me wherever I go.  The planner is all up to date, the other binder, however, has been MIA since we moved…until tonight!  Good thing we found it, school starts on Wednesday and I need to have a central place to put all of the boys’ school stuff they get…the handbook, how to contact each teacher, etc.  It’s nice to have it all in one place so I can find it.

As I was looking through this binder tonight, I realized I had created this binder last year in hopes of taking full advantage of all the sections in the binder…but I didn’t because some of them are specifically for owning a home…which now we do, so I can use it!  YEAH ME!

Anyway…that’s what’s keeping me up late tonight…working on that.  There’s no way I could work on it when all 4 boys are running around!

It’s been such a long time since I’ve posted!   I bet you are wondering where I’ve been…well, maybe not, but just humor me!

In December, we decided to change from DSL to Cable internet.  Little did we know how long that would take to happen!  We finally got the cable installed and up and running on Feb. 14th!

Can you imagine being without the internet for that long?  Yeah, I can’t…I hit the coffee shop many times in the apst 2 months just so I could keep up!

However, that lack of internet has allowed me to turn off the computer without thinking twice about it…a newfound freedom, so to speak.

I did miss you all and keeping up…

During my time without the internet, I have played more games of solitare than I care to admit and started a new craft…book thongs! 

I’m sorry I haven’t been around to post here recently…I’m hoping that the new year will bring me more ideas of things to post about!

I was reading blogs yesterday and came across Heather’s post about the new Word Press 2.7.  Me being the nosiest person curious, I had to check it out for myself!

So, I go to my Word Press log on.  I look at the old screen…I see where they are telling me the newest version is available.  I remember that Lisa (from Simply His) added the Automatic Update onto my screen, so I click…and wait…nervous…I’m afraid that I’m going to screw something up.  I start second guessing myself…maybe I should ask someone about how to do this first.

After reading the first page, it seemed pretty simple, it says “Click Here for the next step”…Ok, so I clicked it.  The computer did something (I have no idea what) and then the screen told me what just happened on the update and then said “Click Here for the next step”…this continued until all the steps were completed.  With each click, I got a tinge of panic in me…am I screwing it up?

After the last click, I got the “Congratulations, you have updated your Word Press” screen.

So, now that my head is swollen to 3 times it’s size word press is updated, I go and sign in to see what Heather is talking about.  WOW! It looks so much different than what the older version did.

I like it!!

And, I’m so stinkin’ proud of the fact that I updated it by myself!

I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth…I’m just trying to get through this writer’s block.  Trying to find my place in the blogging world.  I have ideas, I try to write them, they just don’t sound as good as they do in my head…and why is it that I get all these good ideas to blog and even run through the blogs in my head and they sound right at night when I lay down?  I never remember those in the morning…why cant’ they come when I’m at the computer?

Anyway, just wanted to let my 2 readers know that I’m here…I’m just at a loss…I guess I need to figure out exactly what my blog purpose is…what am I trying to get across on my blog.

Dad’s home from the hospital!  He got home yesterday!!  Thanks to everyone who was praying for him.  He still has a lot of things to figure out (insurance, retirement, disability, etc.).  He still has some pain in his feet, but not nearly as much, his kidneys are working properly again.

Hurricane Ike hit Ohio!  Sounds funny, yes?  Well, we got a huge wind storm out of it (no rain, just wind) and it knocked out the power on Sunday afternoon.  We got power back last night (Monday).  The boys have been off of school for 2 days and they don’t have school again on Wednesday.  Kevin’s shop that he works in is out of power too.

We drove around Monday to see all the trees down.  There were many power lines down too.

Tonight we invited a family over for supper, they are still without power.

Noah is going to turn 8 on Friday!  Wow…time sure flies!

I guess they call this a “dump” post (or something like that).

Trying out my new siggy…what do you think?  Now if only there was a way for it to automitacally be added to the bottom of each post…is it possible??  Do you know??

I have so many different posts I want to make…but with back to school arriving soon, I’ve been spending my time getting my oldest 2 ready for school!

I do have a couple posts I want to get up this weekend…and a list of things I want to blog about, but we’ll save some of those for another day when i’m at a loss as to what to blog about!

I am slowing learning the blog thing.  I did finally figure out how to create a post and have it publish itself on a different day!  YEAH me!

Now if I could just keep the words flowing and find the time to write the posts, I will have broken through that invisible barrior that seems to have planted itself right in front of me!

Why is it easier for me to write posts in my head and not onto the screen?  I lay in bed at night and think “Oh, I could write about this…” then proceed to think through how the post would go.  I could write a book, my words flow so well…but you’d never know because by morning, I have forgotten the whole post!

Ok, I need your help!!  I am trying to figure out a “signature” line that I like the best…here are a few that I’ve made, please tell me which one you like the best, or if you think I should make something different.  I want to start being more consistent with the signature line with each post!

So take a look around my blog, tell me which signature line fits best.  If you think of something different (I know there are some talented ladies out there who can come up with great ideas), I can create a different one.  Also remember, if you like one above, I can change the color to match my blog (which is probably will do)

Annabelle…signatureless

This week, I have learned a lot about the blogging world that I didn’t know!

Twitter, there’s a whole community out there of bloggers who keep in touch with each other on a more intimate basis.  Kind of like chatting on IM.  I found this through a couple people talking about it on their blog.  After asking about what twitter is, I went to check it out.  I now Twitter!

Oh and I use Twitbin too!  It’s a plugin through Mozilla Firefox.  You have a window open inside your window that has your twitter friends on it!  It’s wonderful!  Now I don’t have to keep going out to my twitter page to see what my friends are up to!

Mom Blogger’s Club…a place that mommy bloggers come together and form a community of help and support.  I have been a member of message boards in the past, and this reminds me of a message board type of thing.  Many boggers offering other bloggers support!

I have been blogging for years, and never knew about all the different groups offering support that were available out there!  There really is a community of mommy bloggers out there!
