Wow, I haven’t been updating like I said I would.  Sorry about that!

I have finally started going back to the gym, which I’m so glad…Kevin is too (he pays for it).

This past weekend I went and visited with my dad at the hospital.  He had a clot that ran from his groin to his ankle.  His leg was swollen up and he has been put on blood thinners.  He’s not allowed out of the hospital until he gets rid of this blood clot.  They have him on a heart monitor the whole time, so, even though I’m really worried about him, I’m glad he’s being taken care of at the hospital.  He is up there cracking jokes and talking about different memories.  I’m really glad I got to go see him, even if I did have to leave my husband with 4 sick boys at home.

I have so much things running through my head…the biggest one is VBS right now.  I have to figure out where I need help and schedule a meeting with the Elder who is going to be helping me and lay out a plan with him before scheduling a meeting with the board to discuss how things are going and any changes that have been made since the last meeting.

I have been working harder on getting into the word daily.  I’m not where I should be yet, but I am heading in the right direction.  I sometimes struggle with actually reading something…I have done little things to remind me… I use my outlook to remind me to read devotions daily, I have a “Verse of the Day” on my desk top (Window’s Gadgets), I have a Verse of the Day (2 of them actually) on my Facebook, I have a bible on my phone and a bible in various rooms of my house, I have an email sent to me via Proverbs 31 Ministries each day.  You would think with all those things I it would be easy, but for some reason there’s a sort of disconnect somewhere, but I am truely trying to reconnect.  I would appreciate any prayer covering, so if you feel led to pray for me, please do.

We are house searching right now, which is really exciting!  I haven’t been letting myself get too excited about that, I just don’t want to have my hopes up too high.  I have been praying for this for years though…could this really be an answer to prayers?  The timing…it has to be a God thing for us to move forward.

I hang out on Facebook with so many friends now, I decided to set up my blog on the blog networks on facebook.  We’ll see how that goes.  I know it doesn’t matter how you bring people to your blog, it’s going to take me actually updating to keep people coming.  I’m hoping that I can get into some sort of routine.

I’m sorry I haven’t been around to post here recently…I’m hoping that the new year will bring me more ideas of things to post about!

I was reading blogs yesterday and came across Heather’s post about the new Word Press 2.7.  Me being the nosiest person curious, I had to check it out for myself!

So, I go to my Word Press log on.  I look at the old screen…I see where they are telling me the newest version is available.  I remember that Lisa (from Simply His) added the Automatic Update onto my screen, so I click…and wait…nervous…I’m afraid that I’m going to screw something up.  I start second guessing myself…maybe I should ask someone about how to do this first.

After reading the first page, it seemed pretty simple, it says “Click Here for the next step”…Ok, so I clicked it.  The computer did something (I have no idea what) and then the screen told me what just happened on the update and then said “Click Here for the next step”…this continued until all the steps were completed.  With each click, I got a tinge of panic in me…am I screwing it up?

After the last click, I got the “Congratulations, you have updated your Word Press” screen.

So, now that my head is swollen to 3 times it’s size word press is updated, I go and sign in to see what Heather is talking about.  WOW! It looks so much different than what the older version did.

I like it!!

And, I’m so stinkin’ proud of the fact that I updated it by myself!

Ok, I’ve been blogging on and off for over 4 years now.  I first had a blog on a private message board, then I moved over to LiveJournal.  I ended up leaving LiveJournal when I realized many of the people there weren’t “real”.  They were being fake in their journal and I was gullible to all that.  I believed what they said, so when I found out otherwise, I felt betrayed.  Instead of confrontation, I decided to close my LJ blog and open up one on Blogspot…I wanted to start fresh…New Name, New Blog.

Then I won my very own WordPress & Domain Name…Yep, I moved again…here!

My first reason to start blogging was just to document my day to day life.  I have been writting in a journal for years, and thought it would be neat doing my blog on the computer (yep, I was inspired by Doogie Howser…remember him?).  Then my blog sort of evolved a bit into a pregnancy journal when I found myself expecting a surprise package (or 2)!

But now, what is my blog really about?  My day to day life with my family and also about what God is doing in my life.  I guess I’m trying to define my Bloggy Purpose.

I would like to know…

1.  How did you begin your blogging journey?

2.  What was your blog about in the beginning?  Has it changed since then?

3.  How long have you been blogging?

4.  And lastly…When you hit a spot where you have no idea what to write about, how did you get your ideas?

I’m curious…I want to start blogging more frequently than what I do, but I keep hitting these dry spots and have no idea what to write about.  I’ve made myself reminders each day to blog with lists of ideas, but I would like to know how you got to where you are today in your blog!

I sit here daily and stare at the screen wondering what I want to blog about. I have so many thoughts in my head, I just don’t know where to start. I need organization of thoughts!

Maybe it’s just I’m so exhausted today…I don’t know. I’m running on 5 hours of sleep and it’s catching up with me!! I know Lisa from Simply His blogged today Organization and Blogging…maybe I should head over there and read!

I was going through my live feeds today and came across a giveaway on Bloggy Giveaways site. Today’s giveaway is for $100 gift certificate for a custom blog design from Simply Amusing Designs.

I checked out Simply Amusing Designs site. She talked about Branding…something I have never thought about…that is until today! Now here I sit wondering what type of Branding I should do. Oh there are so many options!

I could probably design my own…yes, but there are days that I just don’t feel so creative. Today is one of them…I’m sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the head cold that I’m starting to get.

Oh and all of you know my blog as Christian Momma…well, I have been thinking (look out) about all the blogging options I have. Blogger, WordPress, Typepad…I’m sure there are others (and if you know others and have an opinion, I’d like to hear about it). Some of those require me to have a domain name. This is something Kevin and I have been talking about getting.

So many options!!

I’m not one to post on a schedule. I tried doing that and did well for awhile, but not sure what happened. I guess I just don’t have a lot to write about…either that or I’m too busy…I’m going to go with I’m too busy! 4 boys will do that to you…but add in to it the VBS and Bible Studies that I’m doing…it’s amazing I have time to be on my computer as it is!! I’m not making excuses…just stating facts!

Please realize that I do read a lot posts from my friends…I may not always comment, but I do read! I pray you are all doing well!

This morning, as I opened my email, I got a message from Denise saying she had an award for me. I wasn’t sure what it was, so I headed over there.

Today, Denise awarded me with a Friendly Site Award! How sweet is that! This is my first award I have gotten!! I’m so excited and honored!

I’m so far behind in journaling! I have a bunch of things I want to journal on, but have been so busy doing summer things that I haven’t gotten online much! When I get a few moments, I’ll be doing some journaling to catch up! I’ve been in a Bible study this summer and part of our “homework” is to journal on topics…I have the topics and ideas, just need to find the time to do it!

Ok…I’ll be back soon! Maybe tomorrow or Thursday…I have a few commitments tomorrow, so I don’t know if I’ll have the time I need to do it.

Am I the only one that had these journal ideas running in your head all day long? Sometimes I wish I could just talk and it would magically appear in my journal!! LOL

I am working on getting my Blog the way I want it…I think I may be close! So bear with me as things keep changing! Once I get situated…I’ll be ok…at least for a little while!
