Inquiring Minds what to know…

Since I was at a loss for words, I begged asked the many few couple people who read my blog to ask me questions so I would have some sort of blog post…the obliged!

So, without further ado…

Lizz @ Yes, and So is My Heart asked…

Hmmm, what would you spend a free day doing. Nothing responsible allowed.

A free day…what’s that?  :D  I would probably start out by sleeping in and not getting up to kids screaming or an alarm.  Then I would go shopping and blow a ton of money on things I normally just look at.  Then go to a spa and spend the afternoon there…then for supper, I would want Kevin to take me to the most fancy restaurant to eat.

Heidi @ Frantically Simple asked…

Hmmm, let’s see…
Dream job?
Favorite scripture verse?
Most embarrassing moment?
Cherished childhood memory?

Dream job…well, I kind of like what I do now, but it doesn’t pay well. Actually any job that I didn’t have to do much work, but get paid a lot of money for not doing anything would be great!  I’m not sure I know of any jobs like that, so I guess I’ll have to settle for my Stay at home mom position.

Favorite Scripture Verse…I have 2 that I really like.  The first is Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. The other is 2 Timothy 1:7 God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Most embarrassing moment…well, there are so many of those…let me see…when Kevin and I were dating, he took me to a bowling alley for our date.  We were having a good time and then I realized why you aren’t supposed to step across that line…I’m sure you can see where this was going.  I grabbed my ball, held it in my hands and visualized the ball knocking down all 10 pins…I started my motion towards the alley and didn’t realize how close to the line I was.  I stepped over that line…and that’s the last step I took!  The ball went bouncing down the lane and I went sliding after it (only a few feet though).  I was so embarrassed I didn’t even bother to stand back up, I crawled back to the seats.  I’m sure my face turned every shade of red known!!

Cherished childhood memory…every year around Christmas, my aunt and uncle and their kids would come over to my parents’ house for a lasagna supper.  After supper, my dad and my uncle would go and play basketball, while my aunt and mom would start making the cookie dough…kids got stuck with dishes.  Then after the dishes were done, we would all help make the Christmas Cookies…a recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation.  My mom would mix the dough, my cousins, sister, and I would take turns helping her roll and cut out the cookies, my aunt would man the oven, and once all the cookies were cooled off, we would ice and decorate the cookies.  One batch of cookies makes over 150 cookies!  We still try to do the cookies every year, but it’s harder and harder with everyone’s schedule.  That and you know the phrase “too many cooks in the kitchen” well add 13 extra children in the house as we try to do the cookies…and the men?  Yeah, they don’t play basketball.  It’s crazy when we try to do it.

Rhe asks

I have a question for you…lets say today is your birthday and your mother gave you $100 with strict orders to spend it totally selfishly on yourself….what do you do?

Here’s your two conditions:
#1 in a week (or less) she’ll ask what you did with it (and you can not in any way lie)

#2 if she doesn’t think what you did with it wasn’t totally selfishly for you she won’t give you money next year for your birthday.

Oh, and ‘I went out for coffee with a friend’ isn’t enough ;)

$100…Let’s see…I would grab coffee first off.  You know, Caribou’s Ho Ho Mint Mocha is out now, so that’s a must!!  Then I would go to TJ Maxx and look for some clothes.  Knowing that 1 outfit would not cost a total of $100, I would head over to Kohl’s and buy some more clothes.  Mainly clothes for church.  When I sing on the Praise and Worship team, I like to dress up a bit…and I don’t have a lot of nice clothes to choose from.   Is that selfish enough? ;)

Thank you for saving my hide and giving me a post I didn’t have to think to hard on asking me questions

Edited to add extra questions!

  1. Hey Ann,

I know I totally slack at reading your blog, but I’m here today ;)

  2. Perfectly selfish enough ;) However, for me I’d need to change Ho Ho Mint to Pumpkin Spice and TJMaxx (not one of those near me) to Target.

I did, however, consider spending it all on Graeters Pumpkin Ice Cream. Yes, I’d have a freezer full of it, but it’s only here for a very short time and I LOVE it…but then I thought that isn’t only selfish it’s also very gluttenous and, really, do I need $100 of ice cream?
