My day!

I got up this morning, knowing I had to take Daniel for his recheck. I rush to get Michael into the shower so he can get to school…while he’s in the shower, I realize that I should check the news to see if there’s some sort of delay. Yep, a 2 hour delay!! So once he’s out, I jump into the shower and get ready. I explain to him that he’s on a 2 hour delay and he has to go to Daniel’s appointment with me this morning, and I’ll take him to school.

So we all get ready and get to the office. I was pretty proud that I actually made it there a bit early (I’m usually running a bit behind)! So, I get the stroller out of the car, Michael runs in and stands between the 2 glass doors (there’s a hallway between the doors…not fun to get a double stroller through!), Noah stands outside with me while I get the twins into the stroller. It’s cold and snowing…and the wind is blowing hard!

I get my stroller maneuvered into the first door, turned and into the 2nd door (of course you’ve got to turn as soon as you get inside that door too), by only running into 1 chair! As that Heavy door closes, Noah’s fingers get caught in it! Not on the side that you push to open, but on the side where the hinges are at!

He starts screaming!! I’m frantically trying to figure out what is going on. I finally figure out that his hand is stuck in the door, so I open the door back up to get his hand out! And at this point I feel like the worst mom!! I try looking at it, but he won’t let me (he’s holding it and screaming and crying). I get in, sign in Daniel and pay. The Office lady seems real concerned at all the ruckus that’s going on…mind you we are the only ones in the waiting room. I tell her that Noah got his fingers caught in the door. She asks if he’d let her look at his fingers (NOPE), so she goes and talks to one of the nurses and gets them to come out to look. Still no one was allowed to look! They quickly take us back to a room and the nurse takes Daniel to get him weighed and asks Noah to step up on the scales so we can see how much he weighs. We get back to the room and the bring in some Tylonal for me to give him.

This doctor’s office isn’t very big, so I’m sure at this point everyone in the office has heard him screaming and knows the story. The doctor comes in and asks me how I’m doing…I look at him and just give out a long sigh! He takes a look at Daniel and then turns to Noah and asks if he can see his fingers. FINALLY he let someone see them. The doctor was real good and checked his fingers out and told me they didn’t look broke (THANK GOD), but wanted to tape them so he can’t use them for the day…and I was to keep an eye on them.

He sits down, finishes his exam of Daniel and tell me that I need to keep him on his breathing treatments until his next appointment (1 year) and have him checked then. He said he still hears a “crackle” but nothing near what he had heard last week! Which is good. He then makes a “splint” using a tongue depressor, gause, and tape. His hand was all wrapped up, it looks like he has a red cast on!

I felt so bad, that I took all the boys to the coffee shop, drove around and then took Noah out to eat for lunch!

I talked to mom and she had mentioned that when she fell, they didn’t think she broke her fingers at first, but then a few weeks later, realized that she had! So, I’m going to watch him closely, I don’t want him to have to go through the months and months of pain (like my mom has been going through) and now has a cricked finger!

And they said…

We went back to the doctor’s office again today for Daniel for a recheck. He does not have RSV! THANK GOD!!! However, he does have a bronchial type thing. They put him on an Nebulizer and I go back in a week!

And so it continues…

I just got back from taking Daniel to the doctor’s office…he’s got an ear infection too! The CP said that it sounded like he had ?? (a form of RSV)! That scared the crap out of me…I don’t want to go back to the hospital with him! She gave him a breathing treatment in the office for his wheezing and told us to come back on Wednesday for a check-up. So now I have even MORE Amoxicilin in my house!! I told Kevin we need to get stock in that company!! LOL

Is it over yet?

What a week this has been!! On Sunday night, Andrew didn’t sleep much at all (he didn’t sleep much on Sat night either), so I called my mom and she said she would come down and help me so I could get some rest. While waiting for her, I made an appointment at the doctor for Andrew and Noah (since Noah tends to get ear infections easily). So, mom gets here, we get everyone ready to go to the dr. Noah had an ear infection and Andrew had a double ear infection! So off to the pharmacy we go! Mom said she’d pay for our lunch before going back home. Once we got home and got everyone their dose of medication, I laid on the couch. Mom asked e what I wanted her to do…mind you we just got home Sunday night and dropped everything in the computer room…the kitchen was a disaster! So she starts straightening things out and I fall asleep. When I wake up, mom had completely cleaned my kitchen, moped my floor, and straightened the computer room. After Kevin came home, mom and I went to get groceries.

On Tuesday, Michael said he was tired and his throat hurt bit, so I called the school and kept him home. Everyone seemed to be doing a lot better, Michael went back to school, Noah and Andrew were on their meeds and Andrew slept, which meant mommy slept.

Then on Thurs, I noticed that Daniel was getting congested, and I had that oh so familiar sinus pressure.

This morning, Daniel and Andrew decided 6am was wake-up time…early from their usual 8-9 am wake-up! While getting them up, I hear Michael moaning and whining about something. I sent Kevin in to see what the problem was and he said his ears hurt. Do I waited around until the doctor opened and made appointments for Michael and Daniel. Daniel is fine, just congested…Michael has a severe double ear infection! He’s never had an ear infection before! The doctor said that after looking into his ears, its no wonder he was crying so much. They even gave Michael a Rx for Tylonal with codeine so he would be able to get some sleep! So back to the pharmacy we go! Came home and I “dosed” everyone up and here I sit, just barely able to keep my eyes open!!
