Relief!

Well, sort of! I got some Naselcrom tonight…took my 1st dose and I could feel it working! I got a little relief! I’m sure with more uses I’ll get more relief from these nasty allergies!! I used to use this stuff years ago and it worked really well. My plan is if I do end up going to the doctor for allergies to ask about the nasal spray type. Those seem to work the best for me. At one time I was on Patanol, Allegra, and Nasenex. As long as I had Nasenex, I was fine, but when I ran out of Nasenex, nothing else worked…so the Allegra didn’t do anything for me. My sister was on Zyrtec at one point (I think she still is, but I’m not sure) and told me that worked well with her and her allergies and asthma. I also want to go in soon (well, when we have the extra money) to get checked out for asthma. I’ve had signs of it before and my sister was diagnosed with it a couple years ago. When I went in at one time for the doctor to check it out, she didn’t do a thing, just said “Nope, you don’t have it” without any tests! (I’m guessing that’s not the way it should have been done…not that I want asthma, but if I do have it, I want to be prepared…KWIM?)

Earlier today (when we got back and started unloading the desk…THANKS RHEANNAH), my hips went out. Man did that hurt! We have have the desk upstairs and the other half downstairs. We need to wait until my back is a bit better before taking the rest of it down. Anyway, it hurt to stand, sit, and lay down. Eventually I got into a comfortable position…comfortable enough to take a nap…and slept for an hour or 2. After my nap, I got up and moved around a bit and it seems to have gone back into place, but my back is still hurting a bit. I hate when this happens!! I know it will get better the more I move around, but it hurts to move!

UGH!

Stuffy Head…Runny nose…watery eyes…sneezing…pain…

Oh the agony!! That’s me right now!! My allergies are in full force and it stinks (not that I can breath through my nose right now)!!

I went to my medicine cabinet (well, not really a cabinet, it’s basically a basket full of meds that I can’t find a place for right now sitting on my dresser in my room) and found Alevert. I thought “Oh wow, that worked before…maybe I can use this” So I called the Pharmacy and asked them about it when nursing…she said I can’t take a Antihistamine while nursing because it will dry up my milk!! HUH?? That’s not good, but what am I supposed to do for relief?? She said that I have 2 options…1) Try the OTC Naselcrom or 2) go to the doctor and get a prescription!

Well, since money is tight at this moment in time and insurance will be changing in the next couple of days, I guess we’ll try the Naselcrom! Hopefully that will work!

Anyone else have an idea of a relief for me? One that’s safe while nursing??

Appointment update!

Daniel and Andrew went to their 6 month appointment today (a little late, but I wanted a certain dr, so I had to wait). They are doing wonderfully! Doctor said it was ok to start foods (which I sort of figured, but wanted to be sure). We start with Rice Cereal, play around with thickness, to see what they like. We can introduce a new food (yellow) once a week (no more than 1 for an entire week before adding the next). How exciting!! Oh and I can change their formula to a cheaper one (not that I use it much at all, but still nice to know). They both got 4 shots each :( They screamed, but once nursed by mommy they were fine!

They don’t go back for 3 months!! :)

Andrew’s stats: 14 pounds 4 ounces, 25 inches long, 16 1/4 inches head circ.

Daniel’s stats: 12 pounds 9 ounces, 25 inches long, 16 inches head circ.

Well…

It’s allergy season! :( Man am I feeling it too! I kept thinking that my allergies weren’t bad last year, until I read a journal entry from last year…and I posted about my eyes itching, sneezing, etc. and how I had forgotten how bad my allergies were when I lived here before!

Well, it’s back!! I’m constantly sneezing, my throat is itchy, my nose is runny, etc. This didn’t hit until our air stopped working and we had to open up the windows to get some cooler air in! Yeah, not fun on my end!

Daniel & Andrew are 6 months old!!

My boys are 6 months old…as of yesterday!! It just doesn’t seem real!

Daniel
Daniel loves to straighten his legs into a standing position when you hold him. He smiles when you talk to him (as long as he’s in a good mood). When he’s upset and crying, he’ll cry “mmmommm” Sounds like mom to me! :) He talks a lot too and loves talking to Andrew. He’s teething, so he’s a drool box too. He nurses like a pro, and actually prefers it to having a bottle…yet gets frustrated when mommy is “empty” and he’s still hungry! He’s not fond of his tummy time…but we still do it. He’s very…very…ticklish, especially around the neck and under his arms. He giggles when you clap his hands for him. He sleeps through the night (and has for quite some time now). He needs to be patted on the back and bounced to go to sleep! The last time he was weighed, he weighed 12 pounds.

Andrew
Andrew loves to sit on your belly and bounce. He smiles a lot too when you talk to him. He’s teething and drooling…he’s got it figured out…hands down ( Come Look! ) He loves his tummy time. Holding his head up like a pro! He nurses like a pro too…he gets mad when I’m empty too, but not nearly as mad as his brother. He talks and jabbers ALL the time! When he wakes up in the morning, he talks instead of crying. He’s been sleeping through the night for quite a while too! He cuddles to go to sleep…just a slight bounce for him helps him to fall asleep faster. The last time he was weighed, he weighed 13 pounds 7 ounces.

I couldn’t ask for better babies! They are so laid back and pretty easy going. They enjoy playing under their gym. They are looking more and more alike to me too! ( Take a look…what do you think? ) They go to their 6 month check-up on August 25th!

We have many family members who can’t tell them apart…I think it’s funny! With some family who are “smug” about it, I won’t tell them who they have, I won’t use names of either child…just waiting for them to ask who they have or make the mistake. Kevin’s mom is one who is so sure she knows them apart…she doesn’t have a clue…she’s just guessing. I play this game with her LOL…how bad is that? I know when they get bigger, they will take over where I left off!
