We’re back!!

We got back from camping a short time ago. We are all so exhausted!! Sad thing is we didn’t do anything! LOL It was HOT!! This was our first camping trip with the dog!

Kevin and I got to the campsite first and set up our tent up on the hill under the afternoon shade tree. As we were finishing up setting things up, my mom and dad and sister’s family showed up. They had a camper, so they didn’t have to worry about the tent (mom and dad slept in the camper too). The kids played and we got the fire going.

On Saturday everyone except me, Michael, the twins, and my sister went to the Serpent Mound. We, however, just hung out, playing board games and stuff. After everyone got back, we started playing Hillbilly Golf (which is a game a friend of thiers’ friend makes…it’s basically made of PVC pipe and golf balls with rope. You have the 2 PVC pipes set up a little wider than a ladder, 3 high…reebar (sp?) is put into the ground to hold it up. You play by throwing 4 sets of golf balls, which are 2 golf balls that have been drilled through and connected by a rope, at the pipes across from you and the points are 3 for the top row, 2 for the middle, and 1 for the bottom…you play to 21, if you go over 21, you start going backwards. If your opponent lands on the same bar you are on, it cancels it out)…Kevin and I were partners (only fitting since it was our anniversary ;) ). We won every game except the last one! It was a bunch of fun.

Nothing too exciting, but it was fun for us! We hit a detour on the way home…took us 20 miles out of the way, with no direction on how to get around! Good thing Kevin had his GPS with us!

11th Anniversary

Today is Kevin and I’s 11th anniversary! How did we chose to spend it? We went camping with our family, my mom and dad, my sister and her family. We enjoyed ourselves though! It’s nice to spend time with family too! We did play Hillbilly Golf all evening (once it cooled off…it was awful hot) and we won all the games, well with the exception of 1…but we didn’t want the owner’s of the game to get mad, so we let them win! LOL <– That’s our story and we’re sticking to it!! LOL

We were talking to my mom and she jokingly said “This year you are enjoying your last year’s present” LOL Meaning the twins! If you remember correctly, that’s when we got pregnant last year!

Kevin is such a loving and caring man. I know I don’t post much about him, but he’s always there for me. He’s my rock when I’m scared, my soft shoulder to cry on when I’m sad, he’s there to share my joys and sorrows. He’s my biggest fan…and I’m his!

Kevin doesn’t show much emotion, he never has. He has a temper, but always keeps his cool around me. We very rarely get into fights or arguments.

This song is something that I always think of when I think of how well Kevin and I are together:
When God Made You By Newsboys
VERSE(1):
It’s always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last forever
And now that I have found you I believe
That a miracle is come
When God sends a perfect one

CHORUS:
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life
Oh I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I will need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must’ve been thinking about me

VERSE(2): (Sung by Natalie Grant)
I promise that wherever you may go
Wherever life may lead you
With all my heart I’ll be there too
From this moment on I want you to know
I’ll let nothing come between us
And I will love the ones you love

CHORUS
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life
I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I will need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must’ve been thinking about me

BRIDGE:
He made the sun and made the moon
To harmonize in perfect tune
One can’t move without the other
They just have to be together
And that is why I know it’s true
Your for me and I’m for you
Cause my world just can’t be right (can’t be right)
Without you in my life

I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
He must’ve heard every prayer
I’d been prayin’
(I’d been prayin’)
Yes He knew everything I would need
When God made you
(I thank God He made you)
When dreams come true
When God made you
He must’ve been thinking about me

I love him more and more every day!! Thank you God for bringing him into my life!

Camping

I am working on planning our camping trip. I guess I should explain a bit, last time we went camping, all I had to do was show up with my kiddos and our food. That’s it! Everything else was planned. This time, my sister has to go out of town for 2 or 3 days this week, so she really doesn’t have the time to do some stuff…including getting the groceries for the weekend. Also, my mom has something planned every day this week too. So, I told them that if they were to get me a list, I would do the grocery shopping for everyone. My sister has 4 kids…2 boys, 2 girls, age ranges from almost 15 to almost 9!! And they have more of an appetite than my boys do! This ought to be interesting! I hope I get enough food (but not overly too much). My sister and her husband just had a cow slaughtered, so I don’t have to worry about hamburgers. At first thought, it was going to be, her supplying the hamburgers, me supplying the hot dogs and my parents supplying the buns…but now it looks like I’ll be getting everything (except the hamburgers) for everyone! ;)

It’s only fair though, my sister was the one who booked our campsite this time and last time. She had a bunch of games and activities planned last time too. And by the time the weekend was over with, she was totally exhausted! Not what camping is supposed to be…isn’t it supposed to be relaxing?? So, I decided that this time around, I’m going to do the extra stuff for her so she doesn’t have to worry about it!

Any ideas for activities for kids and adults? (Kids ages are…boy almost 15; girl 13; boy almost 12; girl almost 9; boy 8; boy almost 5; and twin infant boys.) I’m planning on taking some cards, but not sure what else to do. My sister said she didn’t want it “structured”, but we need to plan some activities.

Camping!!

We are going camping again this weekend!! YEAH!! I’m so excited!! Oh and on Saturday it will be Kevin and I’s 11th Anniversary!! I told him I didn’t want the same type of gift this year ;) (twins) LOL

I feel…: excited

5 months!!

Wow, what a whirl wind! 5 months! It’s hard to believe that they are 5 months, yet they seem to have been a part of our family forever! Daniel and Andrew will be 5 months on the 16th (tomorrow)!

They are such sweet and easy babies! I couldn’t ask for more!

Daniel is older by 2 minutes. They both are all smiles most of the time! They have started cooing and babbling…it’s so cute! Daddy has been teaching them how to spit too…bad daddy ;) The will very intently look at each other and talk. I always loved the stage when babies will coo and babble, but to see them do it to each other, that’s even cuter!! :)

I know I’ve probably said this before, but I didn’t expect another baby, let alone twins…I certainly didn’t sign up for this…HOWEVER, I wouldn’t change it for the world! I’m so in love with my babies…everything they do makes me smile!

Michael and Noah are adjusting well to having them in our family too! They get such a kick out of the fact that Daniel and Andrew will smile and coo at them when they are near them. Daniel and Andrew just adore their big brothers!

I just can’t believe that time is flying by! It seems like only yesterday I found out I was pregnant…and we are actually coming up on the conception date!

I’m still nursing, they are doing quite well too! Now don’t get me wrong, I still do have formula around the house as a back-up. There are days that I know I’m empty…they let me know that by basically screaming and trying to get milk, so we offer a bottle of formula. That doesn’t happen all that often any more. Oh and since my pump broke (before they came home from the hospital) we have done wonderfully. I never did buy another one and we’ve just been nursing! I’m glad things are working out this way. I never did have to pump with Noah either. I hope I can keep up with it up to their 1 year (maybe even to their 1 year adjusted age). It got real hard with Noah around 7 months because I felt like I couldn’t go anywhere or do anything because of nursing. But so far, I haven’t felt that way. I also have the mind set that I know these are my last babies and I remember the bond I had with Noah and the longing I had after we weaned for him to nurse again.

I love my sweet boys!!! ALL OF THEM!!!
