Great night

Well, after not having any sleep a few days ago, my boys did wonderful last night! I only got up 2 times!! YEAH!!

I hope they start doing that more often!!! :)

I feel…: hopeful

Shots!

My babies got their synergist shots today! They did ok, screamed only for a little bit after the shot was administered. The lady I talked to on the phone about this was there and came to talk to me. She said after everything we went through, they found out that the offices (there are 3 of them…she only works at the main one…we go to one of the satalite offices) are all slacking behind in getting the information to her about the infants in the offices! She also apologized because she realized that we have been seen at the office since March and the paperwork for the synergist shot should have been to her in March, not in April. Because of this, she said that they are changing the way things are done now!

What a pain!!

I took my boys in to the doctor for their 2 month shot. I was told by someone in the office that at their 2 month appt., they would get the synergist shot…ok, so when I went in, they didn’t give it to us, so I asked the dr. and the nurse about it, because with our copay, it costs me $50 for each visit with the twins! Well, a couple days go by and I get a call telling me that their shot was in and I had to make an appt. to come in for it. That’s another $50 when I was told it would be done at the 2 month appt.

I called Kevin and told him what was going on and we decided that the only way we would get in would be if we didn’t have ti pay our copay or if we came in for another reason. So I called them back and left a message.

I got a call today about the shot and was told that it’s a $2000 shot and they have to get it approved by our ins. before they even order it…but we had the final say as to whether our boys get it or not, but it is something they need (which I agree with). After us telling her that we were told it was to be at our last appt., and it wasn’t, we weren’t too happy they didn’t reschedule the appt until it came in. after going round and round with the nurse (not really arguing or yelling, just explaining my end and listening to her end), she asked me if she could check a few things out and call me back, I said sure. All the while telling Kevin about what we had discussed and what was going on. She calls back and says the dr said to have us come in and they would waive our copay…then she explained to me about next year’s shots…I then told her about me being really confused since at the NICU they told me that my boys would get the shot until they were 2 years old, and the last dr I seen told me this would probably be the last time they get it. She said that at the age and weight they were that it should go until they are 2 years old. I’m guessing this dr I seen (which I wasn’t too impressed with) doesn’t have a clue! I need to make sure I get in with the same doctor each time…I’m tired of dealing with the doctors I don’t like!! Now to figure out what the doctor’s name is!! LOL

I’m so glad that we got that all figured out!! So now we go in tomorrow and the boys get their synergist shot!!

Rolling?

Andrew and Daniel have been rolling up to their side for a while now. But last night, I put them on their back (like your supposed to) and when I went back to check on them, Daniel was on his tummy!! I’m not sure if it was a fluke or not…at what age do they usually start rolling?? It’s way to early for that isn’t it?? I can’t remember!

I feel…: curious

2 Months!!

Wow, Daniel and Andrew are 2 months old! I can’t believe it!! They are both starting to get into somewhat of a schedule. They sleep pretty decently at night (Michael and Noah both were sleeping through the night at 6 weeks, but I knew it would be differently for these 2).

Daniel and Andrew both are smiling at us…Daniel started before Andrew did, but they have been doing this for a while now. They can focus on things and they like to focus on each other’s face. When I hold both of them, they will stare at each other and be content. They also hit and kick each other in the bed, to the point where Kevin and I are discussing putting up the other crib. Oh and the can wiggle around in their bed at night. We bought one of those wedges that would keep a baby from rolling over…we’ve put them in it at night and when they wake us back up they will be out of those wedges and next to each other. Not sure how that happens, but it does. They seem to be able to find each other in the bed!

Weight is still going up on both of them! We’ve already outgrown most of the preemie clothing. We are definitely out of the preemie diapers and into the newborn diapers (not sure for how much longer though).

They seem to be growing at a normal full term baby…so far. What the doctor told me was that we shouldn’t worry about their development until/unless they don’t hit the milestones at their adjusted age…so we add an extra 9 weeks and if they don’t hit the milestones 9 weeks after what a full term baby would, then we worry. So according to their adjusted age, we would be at the newborn stage right now.

I feel…: pensive

2 month dr’s visit

Andrew and Daniel went to their 2 month visit today! I can’t believe they are almost 2 months already!! Man that’s just unreal! They are healthy!! :) Andrew weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces, 19 1/2″ long and Daniel weighs 6 pounds 5 ounces, 19″ long…both have a 13 1/2″ hat size! They each got 5 shots today :( I hate it when they get shots!

Oh and the best news…the dr gave us the OK to go to Church on Sunday with them (no nursery though)!! YEAH!! I haven’t been there since they came home!

I feel…: jubilant

NICU Follow-up

Took Daniel and Andrew to the NICU for a follow-up visit. They are gaining weight nicely! Andrew is now 6 pounds 6 ounces!! And Daniel is 5 pounds 11 ounces! They go back in a month, they want to check Andrew again, I guess they think he may have an “immature nervous system” and want to check again in a month to see if there’s a change (that makes me a bit nervous, but he seems to be fine to me) and since I’m bringing Andrew back, they want to check Daniel again for his weight since he’s not gaining as quickly as Andrew is.

Well I’m being paged by 2 hungry boys!!!!!!!!!

I feel…: exhausted

Eye exam

Daniel and Andrew had their first eye exam today! :) Basically what they were looking at were the blood vessels in the back of the eye to make sure they are developing correctly (something that some premature babies have a problem with). When the dr took a look, she said their eyes looked like full term babies’ eyes!! YEAH!!

I feel…: happy
